Mike was named CEO in September 2012, and has been Amplidata’s chairman since April 2012. Wall was formerly president and CEO of storage innovator Atempo, and a founding member of the management team that developed Intel’s successful storage business. He also served as the CEO of DICOM Grid, one of the FASTech 50’s most innovative technology startups and he held a position at Cray Research as the general manager responsible for operations in North America. Mike brings over 30 years of enterprise IT industry leadership to the opportunity of propelling Amplidata’s growth during this renaissance in enterprise IT as CIOs reinvent their data centers for higher performance at lower cost.
Mike holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from the State University of New York at Stony Brook as well as a Master in Management Sciences degree from Averill Harriman College for Urban and Policy Sciences at SUNY Stony Brook.
Wim De Wispelaere
Wim is a Storage Veteran who has been involved in the development and launch of several innovative products and technologies. Before starting Amplidata, Wim was Director of Product Management at Symantec (Veritas), responsible for the introduction of deduplication (NetBackup PureDisk) and disk backup technologies in the market-leading Veritas NetBackup product. The deduplication technology had been developed at DataCenter Technolgies where Wim was leading product management and pre-sales.
Prior to DCT, Wim has also been involved in bringing Alcatel ADSL to the market during the early years of broadband internet access, and worked at Formus and Broadnet on the product portfolio and business strategy for broadband wireless internet. Wim has a Masters Degree in Civil Electronics Engineering from the Ghent University in Belgium.
Wouter Van Eetvelde
Wouter is a datacenter and storage veteran who helped shape and build the success of Symantec’s PureDisk, Dedigate and DataCenter Technologies. He is natural leader, experienced in managing worldwide engineering teams. As co-founder of Amplidata, he built and now manages the agile Amplidata engineering team across Belgium, Germany, Egypt and India.
Wouter, who carries a Masters Degree in Civil Engineering from the Ghent University has over 15 years of experience in several technology startups and enterprises. He started his career as a Business Consultant at KBC (banking) where he helped redesigning data centers. Between 2000 and 2009 he had an important role in the success of three startups: Dedigate (acquired by Terremark), DataCenter Technologies (sold to Veritas / Symantec) and Q-layer (Sun Microsystems). At Symantec he successfully led software engineering as a Director of Development until he co-founded Amplidata in 2008.
Mitch brings more than 25 years of financial experience working with public and pre-IPO high tech companies across multiple product lines and business groups. Over the last 15 years he has focused on venture-backed start-ups, providing CFO services for tier one venture capital firms such as: Dicom Grid, S2 Technologies, Cogency Software, Aptix Corporation, DAS Devices, and Triptych CD.
He has also served as a Director and CFO of Oryx Technology and has held various executive management positions at Dysan International/Magnetic L.P., Xidex, Memorex, and Burroughs. Mitch received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business from Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon, and his MBA from the University of Washington in Seattle.
Sam Sirisena brings the strategic focus and vision gained during 25 successful years in the technology industry guiding the creation and implementation of business development programs with strategic planning and tactical execution to generate sustained positive results. His 15 years at Promise Technology, Inc., focused on the enterprise storage segment where he served as the executive vice president of business development, senior vice president of sales & marketing and general manger of the advanced storage group.
His vision, guidance and leadership helped the company become one of the best suppliers of enterprise RAID storage systems and helped the company get listed on the Taiwan stock exchange. Sam spearheaded numerous successful business development programs with world-class companies including Intel and Apple. He also served on the board of directors from 1998-2002. Prior to Promise, Sam served as a senior executive at other technology companies. He holds a Bachelor and Master degrees in Electrical Engineering from Loyola Marymount University and followed a Mathematics/Physics program at the University of Colombo.
